Find someone to murder is the answer on the tip of his tongue, but also not currently helpful.
"I think you're one of the few that have a viable reason to leave Thorne," Lucifer says, a tad twitchy. Even under guard for his "own protection" or whatever they're spewing, without a genuine lead or a real reason to leave, they're more likely to tighten Lucifer's leash than let him do what he wants. Trapped, trapped, trapped. "Keep communication where I can; work on their damn wards around town." Not the castle.
He nods slowly. Another pause, then - he speaks again, something almost awkward in his tone.
"Istredd will keep them safe. Whatever is going on."
He says this aloud almost as much for his own sake.
They don't want them dead yet. is what he's thinking, though. Yet. As much as he's hyperaware of Lucifer's temperature, he can't completely shelve his own anxiety.
Because sure, Istredd will keep them safe, but Istredd is going to do it to the detriment of himself.
So sure. That's fine.
"If they can keep getting some form of communication out, hopefully it'll give us something more to work with. Natasha being the switchboard with the other factions will make all the difference."
Natasha seems competent. He doesn't know the details of what she was back in her own world, but he's suspected that they have overlapping skillsets.
He doesn't know what he was expecting here with Lucifer. An explosion, something more decidedly fiery. Instead the unnerving calm persists, until the unnerving part starts to dissipate. Not relaxed, not his own anxiety pacified, but at least not exacerbated.
They are, oddly enough, a functional pair. For now.
"I'll check in with Solvunn and keep her updated."
That's really all he has for now. Unless there's anything else, he means to head back out.
