Character Name: Lucifer
Canon: Supernatural
Canon Point: 13x07 War of the Worlds, after going through Kevin's portal
Age: few billion years give or take
Background: Wiki
Arrival Scenario: Thorne
Suitability:
From this canon point, Lucifer is severely weakened. He's freed himself from being tortured by an alternate version of his brother Michael, to jumping worlds (not healthy for him), and being very low on grace. Without being able to cannibalize a lot of his brethren (aka trying to nom Castiel's grace would not work), he can't return to his average state as an archangel.
That means he needs to find power. He'll try to build himself a foothold and ideally try to get himself into a situation that he has minions that he can make do his bidding so he's not actually doing any work. More likely he'll try to gain influence, rise through the ranks, push Thorne forward in their war, and then burn it all to the ground so that he can take the Singularity for himself :)
He's not too keen on returning home because honestly he assumes Apocalypse World Michael already got there and nuked the planet so oh well, too bad, so sad! Though there is a minor interest of gaining power from the Singularity and going home and "saving" the day and finally being acknowledged as God but y'know. Life goals.
Point is: Lucifer cares about power. What he plans to do with it is more nebulous.
Powers:
- Angelic Possession: Requires a vessel to contain his form; he's Caged in his current vessel courtesy of Crowley. Seeing the true form of an angel will burn out your eyes; hearing an angel's true voice can make your ears bleed.
- Invulnerability: Previously Immortality. Even weakened, Lucifer is very hard to kill (but he can be killed). His vessel can sustain and heal massive damage over time.
- Superhuman Abilities: Strength, Senses, Speed, Stamina; all currently on a low bar
- Emotional Empowerment: turns out rage is a good motivator. anger, evidently, is a fuel for Lucifer's abilities. if he's angry enough he can temporarily use a fraction of his powers that he's normally too weak to achieve.
- Flight: Able to teleport himself and others to any location. (He can barely travel at all right now and/or without any reliability on the destination. His flights are hiccups at most, a few buildings/streets, maybe.)
*His flight will be treated in the same manner as other characters' teleportation/portal powers, and will be subjected to the same limits. He can only transport himself, and only to locations within the borders of his own faction. Plot-related limits placed on teleportation or portals for events, quests, and other game mechanics will similarly impact his "flight." - Astral Perception: Can see the true form of supernatural beings. For example: angels notably could see the true form of demons.
- Astral Projection: All angels can project a shadowy image of their wings; Lucifer's usually have a burst of light accompanying them.
- Soul Channeling: Lucifer knows how to manipulate the human soul to bolster himself temporarily. It is extremely painful for whoever he does it to.
- Elemental Control: Left with parlor tricks at most currently.
Terrakinesis
Thermokinesis: Lucifer naturally "burns cold" and can manipulate the temperature in a room around him. He also melted the angel cuffs off his wrist.
Electrokinesis: Lightning flashes with his presence. Not really these days.
Pyrokinesis: basically creating lighter flame - Spell Casting: Extremely knowledgeable in understanding and casting spells. Examples: He performed the ritual to summon Death the Horseman. He pulled Dean from the past while physically in the future.
- Prayer: Can hear and track anyone who prays to him.
haha like that ever happens though, especially in a non-shitty way - Master Torturer: The Father of Torture
- Master Combatant: Lucifer was a soldier. He killed in his Father's name while under the influence of the Mark of Cain. His primary form of fighting is hand-to-hand, and a blade (typically an angel or archangel blade, but a knife would do).
- Angel Radio: ability to sense the cross-chatter of other angels. he's a little left of center from the frequency so he's mostly fuzz, but he'd register to others as an archangel on the winds regardless.
- Language: Angels have been known to speak/read any language of Earth. He cannot read the Word of God tablets; only a prophet can decipher those.
Canonically Nerfed at the Moment:
- Biokinesis: Manipulates the life force of another person. Lucifer generally does this as causing hemorrhaging or squeezing internal organs to cause pain.
- Clairsentience: Ability to detect supernatural energies. (He might only be able to if it's related to someone from his world.)
- Locate Person: Can locate anyone that does not have Enochian sigils engraved on their ribs.
- Healing: Lucifer can heal minor to major injuries with a touch.
but why would he even if he could - Smiting: Alternatively Lucifer can burn your soul/essence/what-have-you with a touch.
- Telekinesis: move object and beings with his mind
- Dream Walking/Mental Projection: Lucifer was able to crack into the dreams of people he was looking to use as a vessel in order to talk to them, while also manipulating their physical surroundings, and cause hallucinations.
Definitely or Probably Never Getting Back:
- Chronokinesis: Time travel. (For obvious reasons, he can't do this. Also if he tried and actually managed it in his current state, it'd probably kill him.)
- Demon Creation: Lucifer twisted and corrupted human souls in the pit to make demons.
- Energy Blasts: form his grace into a physical ball of energy to attack with. he'd need to substantially restore his grace to ever reliably manage this again.
- Molecular Combustion:
he who hesitates, disintegratesexplode people with a snap. it was his favorite.just like dad - Memory Manipulation: can erase multiple peoples' memories of the last few minutes
PERSONALITY QUESTIONS
Describe an important event in your character's life and how it impacted them.
Most would assume his initial casting out of Heaven and subsequently getting locked up in the Cage. His Father wanted a villain, and so here one was. It's built him into who he is, sure, and it's left numerous scars, but that's an old wound.
Recently what has left the biggest blemish on him is what he believed to be making peace with his Father. Gaining closure. It was good, it was healthy... and then God and his sister flounced off without a word after using Lucifer for what they needed.
For someone with an extremely large Abandonment Complex, this struck Lucifer to his core. He went from never lying to saying whatever without care. He went from having plans to sowing chaos, wanting to break it all down. Lucifer went from a meticulous way of life to unhinged and in pain and he would make damn well sure everyone else felt it.
In recent canon this is the most pivotal part of Lucifer's character and what drastically changed him.
Does your character have a moral code, or other set of standards they try to live by?
Amoral. He has no problem manipulating or killing the "little" people. They're stepping stones.
Lucifer's standards boil down to that his brethren are of a higher power so they should be treated as such--him especially. He's been cast as the villain too much and he is clearly better than Michael, better than his Father, and that should be acknowledged. He's been dealt enough wrongs that he should be worshiped to make up for it... even if he has no plans, nothing to offer to the table, no way to "fix" the problems that plague his world.
Whatever. Why would that matter, right?
What quality or qualities do they admire most?
Integrity, strangely enough. Mind you, he doesn't pride it in himself exactly, but he can respect individuals that have and uphold it.
He also appreciates those who have a constant, fixed personality. He absolutely loathes Crowley, but he's appreciated that for every time they've fought, Crowley is always the same. Crowley can give him a thrill because the demon is a writhing worm that will just keep going and manage to surprise even Lucifer.
Loyalty is another odd one. He referred to it being a "nice quality to see in this day and age" when he first met Castiel.
Do they have a part of themselves they dislike?
Lucifer is the King of Lies and the person he lies to most is himself. He'll gloat to anyone that he's the best there is, that he loves himself, ect, ect, ect... None of it's true. Lucifer despises himself. He despises the things he's created (except, arguably at the moment, his son that he hasn't met). He looks down at demonkind, gets creeped out anytime his so-called children profess their undying loyalty to him.
He likes to pride himself on power and being different than his Father, but he's exactly the same. He bolsters himself by hiding behind flair and talk but it's all lies. Yet he's unwilling to put in the work to change himself, whether because he's stuck in a cycle or he simply hasn't found enough of a reason.
Lucifer's greatest fear is being locked up again. He does not do well with any kind of confinement and will make any deal under the sun in order to remain free.
He's accustomed to people clawing his name through the muck and he can put up with it to a point, but it gnaws at him when it's a consistent mantra about his evil, regardless how accurate it is. From humanity he can usually shake it off (or kill a few people). From family? Being called cancerous? A monster? Absolutely guts him.
What is their sign, and why?
While the Tower is suitable for his current emotional state, I have to go with the Devil. He will certainly be Displeased for the branding following him.
The Devil still encompasses his full existence--past, present, future. He'd argue that he was the first non-conformist, the first to change the status quo from the rest of his siblings. It would be what brands him for life, and that brand follows him even here.
Additionally Lucifer's default personality is over-dramatic and taking quite literally every slight far too personally. He would never go as far to say he's accepting of others, but he does acknowledge traits that while seem pointless to him, he understands the overall value.
