It's thrown out with disgust, but there's a web of thoughts surrounding it, easy to grasp: that Lucifer's too weak to protect himself in the position, that he doesn't know enough about the whole political game of this world, and how dare he just get compared to Dean Winchester (because that is the bull-headed idiot Lucifer was considering). The king has potential, even if it's just as a figurehead.
